Call for Applications

Selection to the Team is based upon your performance at tournaments in 2018 with particular weighting for those that have attended the:

  • Saskatchewan Provincial Waterski Competition,
  • Western Canadian Waterski Championship
  • Canadian National waterski Championship
  • Alternate Canadian or International Record Capable tournaments

Waterski Wakeboard Saskatchewan provides funding designated for training, reimburses some of the costs for out of province competitions, and provides athlete assistance.

In past years, we have had several skiers that have met our technical criteria for sponsorship but who elect not to compete at that same level in the current year. You are in consideration for a place on the WSWS Sask First Waterski Team, however we would appreciate a short resume to confirm your interest in participation in competitive waterskiing this 2018 season (training and competition within Canada). Saskatchewan Sport bases much of our funding on the performance of our athletes, therefore competition give us the only metric to demonstrate whether our programming is effective in developing skiers representing the Province.

WSWS team selection committee reserve the right to review the applicant responses and will give due consideration to an application with special circumstances that may be outside the criteria (eg: serious injury, lack of RC tournament score, etc.)

Thank you for commitment to Waterski excellence in Saskatchewan. We will evaluate your application in view of your 2017 scores and plans for 2018 and announce our selection for 2018 in early April.
